We have welcomed 10 new altar servers to our Parish from the cohort of children who received their First Holy Communion in May.
St Joseph’s & St Swithun’s Parish warmly invites everyone to join our weekly Christian Meditation gatherings, held every Thursday in the Upper Room at St Joseph’s. These sessions offer a peaceful opportunity to step away from the busyness of daily life and spend time in stillness, prayer and quiet reflection in the presence of God.
Members of the Dad’s Group rolled up their sleeves to give the church grounds some much-needed care. The team worked hard to clear away overgrown shrubs, weeds, and rubble from the side of the church, leaving the area looking fresh and tidy.
On Saturday 12 July, we held a cheese and wine evening to say thank you to all the volunteers in our Parish. The celebration took place after the 6.00pm Mass in the Church Hall.
St Joseph’s Parish and School came together in joyful celebration for the Festival of Hope and Flame, marking a special moment in the Jubilee Year.

I am writing this on the 26 June, a couple of weeks or so after the Pilgrimage to Aylesford and have had time to digest and reflect on the experience. My first thoughts are that we were blessed with the weather. We have just had a heatwave and to be walking in 30-degree temperatures would not have been fun. We never had really heavy rain and, when it did really pour, we were either in church or the final Mass had finished, so thank you, God.
