Parishioner survey will set the parish agenda and long-term goals

All parishioners are invited to participate in a survey that will help the St Joseph’s pastoral team assess the needs and aspirations of the community.Father Tom explains, “Jesus Our Risen Lord walks alongside us as he did with those first disciples on the road to Emmaus. He poses to us the same question as he did to them: ‘What matters are you talking about as you journey along the road?’

“I invite the entire parish community from the youngest to the people in their Sabbath years to reflect on and pray about this question posed to us by Jesus.

“We need to bring into sharper focus the things that concern us as a people who journey in faith along the road of life – our hopes and fears, our joys and sorrows.”

In two weeks time, parishioners will be invited to respond to a set of simple questions, such as:

  • What do we do well in our parish?
  • What do we need to do better
  • What is missing?
  • What are the three greatest challenges facing the parish today?
  • What do you believe God is calling us to be and to do as a parish?

The data gathered will be used to set the parish agenda for the Parish Pastoral Council for the next year and also more long term goals for the next three years.
