Parish representatives to visit Liverpool for leading Eucharist event

Five SS Joseph & Swithun Parish delegates will be attending the forthcoming National Eucharistic Congress.

Lolly Bell, Mary Crosby, Deacon Garry, Liz McArdell and Debbie Reid (St Joseph’s School) will attend the event in Liverpool on 7-9 September.

The purpose of the Congress is to raise awareness of the Eucharist’s central place in the life and mission of the Church. It is shaped by seven themes – Eucharist, Adoration, Scripture, Ecclesiology (the Church), Formation, Music and Mission.

An estimated 10,000 participants, including 570 from the Southwark Diocese, will engage in a series of workshops focusing on different dimensions of the Eucharist and the daily celebration and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.

Our identity as a parish family is made up of all our individual faith journeys, combined. Our focus as delegates, therefore, will be to immerse ourselves in the symposium, congress and pilgrimage and to bring home what we have learned from the experience, and from those we have met, for the personal and collective reflection of what the Eucharistic means to us as a Parish and School.
