Pax Christi invites Catholics to join them in prayer for the Middle East and North Africa

Pax Christi is calling for another time of prayer, fasting and action for the Middle East and North Africa – in particular Syria, Palestine and Israel, Iraq, Afghanistan and Yemen.

The group, the international Catholic movement for peace, invites Catholics to join them in solidarity with others and fast and pray for one or more 24-hour period between 28 September and 3 October.

On 2 October, Pax Christi will hold a vigil of prayer and fasting opposite Downing Street from 10-5pm. Join them in whatever way is appropriate

Pax Christi hopes that this simple gesture will:

  • be a small act of solidarity with those who are refugees as a result of war
  • offer prayerful  encouragement to the many talks and negotiations that are taking place around the world
  • support up-coming peace events and days

Choose one or more days to fast and pray for peace. If you wish to, contact the group know which day, and where you are from, and they’ll add that to their Prayer and Fasting calendar.
